In continuation of his visit to the Niger delta region, Acting President Yemi Osibanjo has been scheduled to storm Akwa-Ibom state on Thursday, March 2, 2017.
The visit to Akwa-Ibom state will be the third state the Acting President has visited in the Niger Delta.
He started the visit with Delta through to Bayesla and now to Akwa-Ibom state. The visit is part of the peace initiative in the volatile region.
A statement from the state commissioner for information and strategy, Charles Udoh, said the Acting President will inspect ongoing construction of the second runway of the Akwa-Ibom International airport on arrival.
Daily post reports that the Acting President will pay a courtesy visit to royal fathers in the state traditional ruler’s council.
Thereafter, Osinbajo will address a town-hall meeting with members of the state elder’s council, royal fathers, representatives of the oil producing host communities, s0ocio-cultural organizations, women leaders, and representatives of youths in the state.
